20-year archive 2005 - 2025
Typepad have closed and shut down all the blogs. Phil has very generously helped me created an archive of my blog Noisy Decent Graphics which I ran on Typepad for 20 years. It's a bit wonky in places, but you can view it at benterrett.com/blog/archive/
The blog was about noticing things. The small details that most people walk past, a bit of type on a wall, the way a poster is laid out, the strange decisions that end up in public signage. Sometimes it was about design in a more formal sense: logos, exhibitions, bits of leadership wisdom picked up along the way. Other times it was whatever caught my eye that day.
It wasn't meant to be comprehensive or polished; more like a sketchbook in public. A place to pin down quotes, half-formed thoughts, or photos that might spark a thought later, and to share them in case they were useful, funny, or simply interesting to someone else.
Design runs through most of it, but so does 80s music, football chants, and the odd bit of work news. I hope you enjoy browsing through it.
